Many people wonder how the city of Broken Arrow actually got its name. The term Broken Arrow in native language actually stands for peace. There is a very popular event in Broken Arrow, and it is called Rooster Days. This of course is the celebration of Roosters. Today the celebration is one of the largest in the state of Oklahoma. Thousands of people come from around the state to take part in Rooster Days. It is rumored that over 4 thousand Roosters were sold at the very first Rooster Days celebration. There were prizes given out for the very best Rooster, the loudest rooster, and even an award for the ugliest Rooster. 

Although the Muscogee nation did decide to live in Broken arrow temporarily, they did eventually decide to move to the Okmulgee area where they have their permanent headquarters located to this very day. 

Historical Sites in Broken Arrow

• The boyhood home of Ralph Blane Hunsecker. Mr. Hunsecker became famous for writing more than 600 songs for movies and even in Broadway. He was very active in helping out Disney and wrote several Christmas Carols.
• Broken Arrow High School Campus, which includes the junior high and the high school is one of the largest school campuses in the state of Oklahoma. 
• Canning Factory is a building that was built before the 1950’s and was named the Gardner Canning Company. There is a rich history of business in this industry. 

In the year 1907, Oklahoma finally becomes a state and is recognized the the United States government as an official state. The state of Oklahoma is no longer Indian Territory, but now an official state of the union. It was official also that Broken Arrow Territory became a city. It was now called the City of Broken Arrow, in the state of Oklahoma. 

The Rose District of Broken Arrow

The Rose district in the city of Broken Arrow, and of course in Broken Arrow Commercial Janitorial Service is a definite growth area for the city of Broken Arrow.
